About the Junior Programme
A British school right in the heart of Riga. The Junior Programme is designed for students aged 8–12: seven subjects taught entirely in English, once a week.
90% of parents report that their child starts speaking English after just the first two months. Not just individual words, either — forming their own thoughts and building full sentences in English.
How we teach:

Example of cross-subject learning: This week's theme is "Mysteries of Ancient Civilisations." In Social Studies, students explore ancient civilisations and learn about life in Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, their culture and inventions. In Story Time & Drama, they read an adapted version of The Secret Garden, discussing the characters, plot and central idea of the story. In English and Grammar for Creative Writing, children write their own character descriptions, create stories and learn to use new grammatical structures. In Math & Critical Thinking, students solve logic problems tied to ancient riddles, maps and numbers. In Science & STEM, they explore scientific achievements of the past and create their own projects, combining language, knowledge and creativity.
Lesson format: Once a week (Fri or Sat), 4.5 hours — with a break for a hot lunch.

British National Curriculum
The programme for children aged 8–12 is built on the British National Curriculum, designed to develop academic knowledge, independent thinking and practical skills. Students learn English through a cross-subject approach, combining literature, natural sciences, mathematics, social studies and creative projects. As in British schools, strong emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, the ability to analyse information, ask questions and find solutions. Lesson topics are adapted to the children's age, interests and English level, allowing them to explore real-life situations and broaden their horizons. The programme helps students confidently use English as a tool for learning, communication and further academic development.

In English lessons, students build confident command of the language through discussions, projects, reading and hands-on tasks. They expand their vocabulary and improve pronunciation, grammar and real-world communication skills. Children learn to express opinions, take part in dialogues, give presentations and work with different types of text. For example, students discuss interesting topics, create projects, conduct interviews and write short texts in English. Lessons help build confidence, fluency and a lasting interest in the language.
Grammar for Creative Writing
In Grammar for Creative Writing, students learn grammar by creating their own texts, stories and projects. Instead of memorising rules mechanically, children learn to apply grammatical structures in real context. They build writing skills, expand their vocabulary and learn to craft engaging descriptions and stories. For example, students write fairy tales, adventure stories, character descriptions and their own magazine articles. Lessons help make written English more accurate, expressive and confident.
STEM
In STEM lessons, students explore science, technology, engineering and math through experiments and hands-on projects. They investigate how different processes work, build models and find solutions to real problems. Children develop research, analysis and teamwork skills, using English as the tool for learning. For example, students might create an environmental project, build an engineering structure, explore energy or design their own prototype. Lessons help children build curiosity and apply knowledge in practice.
Story Time & Drama
In Story Time & Drama, students explore well-known works of children's literature, developing reading, analysis and creative expression skills. Children discuss characters, plot and the central idea of a story and learn to express their opinion in English. Through drama, role-play and creative tasks, students build speaking confidence and imagination. For example, they might read Harry Potter, The Secret Garden or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, act out scenes from the books and create their own stories. Lessons help foster a love of literature and creative use of English.
Math & Critical Thinking
In Math & Critical Thinking, students develop mathematical thinking through problem-solving, logic games and hands-on projects. They study mathematical concepts, learn to analyse information, find patterns and explain their reasoning. Strong emphasis is placed on developing reasoning skills and finding answers independently. For example, children solve logic puzzles, work with charts and data, build strategies and apply math to real-life situations. Lessons help build confidence in math and critical thinking skills.
Social Studies
In Social Studies, students explore the history, culture, geography and current issues of countries around the world. They learn to understand how society works, compare different cultures and analyse events past and present. Lessons are built around discussion, research and project work in English. For example, students study Ancient Egypt, the Age of Exploration, different countries of the world or the impact of technology on society. The programme helps broaden horizons and build global-thinking skills.
Nature Explorers
In Nature Explorers, students explore the world around them through observation, experiments and research projects. They study ecosystems, animals, plants, climate and human impact on nature. Children learn to analyse information, carry out research and find solutions to environmental problems. For example, students create projects on protecting nature, study local ecosystems, observe the weather or explore the life cycle of plants. Lessons build scientific thinking, responsibility and interest in the natural world.
