English Summer Camp in Jūrmala. English, Beach Tennis, SPA & Cinema: MovieMinds

The camp's main goal isn't just learning English, but immersing children in the language through films and TV series, so they speak it freely and with enjoyment. The schedule also includes beach tennis and fitness training with professional coaches, spa and cinema visits, team challenges, plus delicious breakfasts, lunches and a traditional evening tea. Spoiler: there are no random activities here like "So what shall we do today?" Everything is planned as a single game storyline, developed by Global Studio Language School's methodologists.

Two Parts of the Camp — English and Sports

English part: every day is devoted to a new film or series — Squid Game, Stranger Things, Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and others. What will we do? - Take part in cinematic quests and role-play - Create mini scripts, comics and visual stories in English - Take part in debates and discussions: "What would you have done in the hero's place?" or "Which strategy would have been better?" - Interview the "heroes" of the film - Work on soundtrack selection Sports part: - Beach tennis 3 times a week — outdoor training + sessions with a fitness coach - Spa once a week — rest and recovery after an active day - A trip to the cinema once a week — watching a film and discussing it in English Everything is tied together by one storyline Participants are split into teams and go through a "cinematic adventure," with a new mission every day. For correct answers in English lessons and active participation in tasks, children earn points (cinepoints), which can be exchanged for "resources" — idioms, expressions, cards with new words. At the end of camp, there's a language battle where each team shows how rich and varied their English skills are.
